Walking around Fabriano you can find a sanctuary surrounded by woods, built inside a rock; it is destination of many pilgrimages in all seasons but especially in May.

I've never seen this sanctuary first. So in a hot day in autumn I was walking around the small town close to Fabriano toward Precicchie, where we found a a road sign in the direction of that and we went there.

We leave the car at the parking and we were walking along a road through the woods until we see a beautiful and big rock that reminds me'the place where there is the much more famous temple of Valadier.

A staircase, a stained-glass window set in a brick structure buid in the 60' years, not so beautiful, that protects from the elements before to enter into this small sanctuary inside the rock.

HISTORY OF SANTUARY OF MADONNA IN THE CAVE
Tradition has it that the Virgin Mary appeared to a shepherd in a cave not far, then for the sake of convenience it was moved in this cave more accessible. The place was already known in the fifteenth century, and a fresco above the altar dates back to this period.
